Believing family members, a faithful Sunday School teacher, and summer camp all contributed to my coming to know Christ at a young age. During my twenties I taught high school students and became an active part of Grace Bible Church in Souderton, PA. Through the Bible teaching and exposure to missionaries available in the church, God prodded me to pursue missions as a career. I also developed a stronger love for and commitment to the local church as God’s good gift and wise plan for his work in this world. Further studies took me to Columbia Biblical Seminary and Graduate School of Missions (now part of CIU), where I was further exposed to the spiritual needs of Europe. The Lord gradually confirmed my steps to serve in church planting and development in Austria.
Arriving in Vienna in 1993, I spent the first few years completing formal German language study and an internship in an established Austrian evangelical church. My first ministry assignment was in church planting in the town of Ternitz, located about one hour south of Vienna. After a home assignment in the States, I then moved back to Vienna and became a part of what is now known as the Beheimgasse Baptist Church. www.bega.at
Involvement in children’s ministry has flowed naturally out of my own experience during those formative years. Teaching, training volunteers, creating materials, and using English as a means of outreach to families have been some of my responsibilities. At the denominational level, I have also been involved in organizing camps, teacher training, and church consultation within in the Austrian Baptist Union.
Personal ministry with individual women within and outside of the church has also been a focus. In addition, hoping to spur on the missionary sending movement from Austria, I represent TEAM as part of the Consortium of Evangelical Mission Agencies in Austria (AEMÖ).
The Beheimgasse Baptist Church aspires to be a fellowship in which real life with God is discovered, deepened and passed on to others.
