Lorraine Green

My Story

“In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” These words to Abraham gripped Lorraine’s heart when she realized that the promises of God that spanned both time and space were hers by faith. She had a responsibility to represent Christ and his saving power to her generation. Initial steps in serving the Lord eventually led her to Chad, Africa, where for 30 years she taught the Word of God to women.

Lorraine studied French for two years before proceeding on to Chad in 1982, where she then learned Ngambai, and later Nangjere, teaching the student wives in the Bible schools in southern Chad, and training national co-workers to do the same. Her goal was to teach, as the Apostle Paul instructed, so that the young women would love their husbands and children and be virtuous so as not to malign the Gospel, but rather to be good witnesses before family and neighbors of God’s saving grace in their lives (Titus 2:3-5).

Lorraine has also served in various leadership roles among her missionary colleagues in Chad. In 2013 she was asked to serve as Senior Director for Global Ministry overseeing all of TEAM’s work in Sub-Saharan Africa. She moved to Pretoria, South Africa where she had better access to airports and internet. Lorraine works with the leaders of TEAM’s three Ministry Areas in Africa; Chad, Zimbabwe, and Southern Africa, to develop their leadership skills and the spiritual health of their teams. She develops relationships with partnering churches and organizations, and seeks to expand TEAM’s vision with new initiatives and skills.
