I was born in Michigan. My parents started the IVCF chapter at Michigan State where I subsequently went for my undergrad degree in French/Psychology. Married in 1971 and went to Trinity Evangelical Seminary and earned a masters of religion. Charlie and I were dorm parents at Christiansen Academy in Venezuela, high school boys, then applied to TEAM for career service in Venezuela where we subsequently spent the next 20 years involved in planting two churches in urban areas. During that time our daughter and two sons were born. In 1997, we moved back to the US to take up leadership in the TEAM home office. I worked at TEAM for 8 years, then was hired by the Carol Stream school district to be an aide in a bi-lingual Kindergarten-first grade classroom. I have been there for 4 years now, two of which I was a bilingual tutor for grades 2-5. Presently, I am an aide once again in a bilingual 2nd grade classroom and also taking courses at Wheaton Grad School to get my TESOL certificate.
